Every year we prepare for being flexible going across the border - it is never the same. This time when we arrived there wasn't a long line (one year we sat for over two hours on the bridge). Our hope is that we will be allowed across without having to unload the entire bus.
This year, we did have to unload the bus. Everyone gets off and takes their luggage, pillows, backpacks, etc. and puts through the X-ray machine. Then you grab your luggage and press the button - if you get green, you are good to go. If you get red, you have to open your bags for inspection.
We finally got everyone's stuff back on the bus and began the 20 minute trip to Casa Hogar. The kids were waiting outside anxiously for our arrival.
Waiting to see their amigos and amigas from Minnesota!
Because we have been coming to Casa Hogar so long, our reunions are always emotional! It is so fun to see our friends again. Barb and Jessica and Betsy and Paloma were so happy to see each other!
