All Saints Lutheran Church Leaving on Friday, Mar. 25 for Casa Hogar

After almost 6 months of preparation, an inter-generational group of over 40 people is leaving All Saints on Friday, March 25 to travel to Casa Hogar Elim Orphanage. We are so excited to spend time with our "extended Casa Hogar family" that we have developed deep bonds with over the years.

We have several projects in mind, but as always, we are prepared to step in and support Mama Lupita and the children wherever we are needed most. Most importantly, we plan to share God's love with our friends through service and our presence.

Because we are excited to see the progress on the Tilapia Farm, our trip theme this year is the Bible story where Jesus urges several of his disciples (who had been fishing all night without success) to "Cast their nets on the other side of the boat." The verse continues with "When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish." (John 21:1-6) We are planning lots of "fish activities" with the kids to celebrate the new fish farm.

Please keep the children in your prayers this week as they wait for our arrival, and for the safety of our group as we travel the long way down 35 W to Nuevo Laredo.

We plan to start our blog posts as we travel on Saturday, March 26 - so bookmark this site and follow our adventures.

God Bless!
The 2011 Mexico Mission Team
